Crosby, Stills & Nash - st CD 69 w Deja Vu (CSN ONLY!) CD 70 w CSN LP 77 w Daylight Again CD 82 w Allies (Live) LP 83

CSN were such great harmonizers and the vinyl sounds great.  I wanted to group these how I want to listen to them and left out the Neil Young tracks from Deja Vu.  The more I read about that guy, the more I despise him like how he was quietly strumming in the same room as Moby Grape signed away their name to a pimp producer that was lending them money destroying such a talented band or was it how Neil happened to leave off two other co-writers from Buffalo Springfield from his first sing going solo called 'The Loner'.   I've talked about this before like when he went public with Joni on an issue.

CROSBY-NASH - Whistling Down The Wire LP 76

This was their last one listed at Discogs but would be interested in how the earlier two are as this is quite good lyrically and songwise.            https://gofile.io/d/hN87uT

LENNY WHITE - Venusian Summer CD 75 17 w Big CIty LP 77 w Streamline LP 78 w TWENNYNINE - Best of Friends LP 79 w Just Like Dreamin' LP 81

Great self taught drummer from New York that played in Return To Forever and with Al Di Meola.  In fourth grade when I got a record player in my room, my old vinyl brother (the other older brother has only cassettes and into Beatles/Doors/Buffalo Springfield/Chicago) let me borrow his records as he was into Rolling Stones/Bob Dylan/Tom Waits/Bruce Springsteen and one that was very influential to me was by Al Di Meola - Elegant Gypsy.  It had a superfast pre-punk song called 'Race with Devil on Spanish Freeway' and Lenny played on this album.  Later in college years I got his first album for a quarter never realizing the connection and enjoyed it but it was so beat up, I lost it along the way.  Well I found the other stuff at Goodwill but had to search this week to find the first album.

VA - The Best Of Reggae Vol.II CD

In pulling a couple of reggae compilations from the Goodwill CD stack for the summertime, and seeing Lee 'Scratch' Perry (R.I.P.) on this one, it dawned on my I had not posted about his death.  I added that picture I've had on my refrigerator since my rasta friend took it when we saw him in FL right as he gave and lit  him a spliff.  A true legend.  Others on this CD:  Roman Stewart, The Upsetters, The Black Arks, Bob Marley & The Wailers and Brad Osborne.                              https://gofile.io/d/NsIP8R

VA - SUN FUN & REGGAE CD 95

A very fun reggae compilation for the summer time!  Includes:  Jimmy Cliff, Bob & Marcia, Desmond Dekker, Inner Circle, Chalice, Lou & The Hollywood Bananas, Ska Boys, Dhaima, Culture, Dennis Brown, Judge Dread, Bob Marley & The Wailers, Naturalites, Peter Metro, U. Brown, Tracey Niceness & Chris Wayne.                      https://gofile.io/d/paD4pj

The California Raisins - st LP 87

Well since I did the Chipmunks last week thought I would pull out this 1980's remnant that had a Target store receipt on it (didn't know they were selling vinyl back then!) from Goodwill.  Has a totally generic sounding (but totally nail it!) R & B sound and songs but alas...quite normal but very fun!

TERENCE TRENT D'ARBY - Introducing the Hardline According To CD 87

Might as well group him into a set of three posts for what reminds me of the 1980's like I have been doing with groups of three below--themes within themes.  He played First Ave club a lot and was big in MN.

Lenny Williams - Pray For The Lion LP 74 w Spark of Love LP 78 & CD 77 93 w Bonus

Thought I would bury this "Lenny" down here as to avoid confusion with other 'Lenny' above.  This one was singer for Tower of Power for three albums and does a pretty cool cover of an old favorite song of mine 'Compared To What'.           https://gofile.io/d/DSVUAF
