Clinton Thompson of The Morells) would also be right at home on this blog, as would Jim Wunderle- more local legends from my neck of the woods. There's also a great compilation from 1980, "Declaration of Independents", that features J. Wunderle and D. Clinton Thompson. Good to see this featured here!
