REPOST: For support bands for last week's Thrasher Skate Rock Vol. 2 rip. Per Discogs: Tales of Terror was a Sacramento punk rock band which was active from 1982 until 1986. The band released a self-titled LP in 1984 on the label CD Presents as well as some appearances on a few compilations "Rat Music for Rat People Vol. 2" and "Them Boners Be Poppin' Comp". They disbanded in 86 due to the tragic death of their lead Guitarist Lyon Wong. Their LP has only recently been reissued. Their only LP greatly influenced rock bands Green River/Mudhoney, Melvins and Nirvana. Considered by many as innovators to not only the Skate Rock sound and aesthetic but as well as Grunge.

One of my bands opened for them prob shortly before they broke up. One of the truly great punk albums. I’ll always remember playing the track Ozzy for one of my kids. Amazing stuff and most people don’t know about them. That’s a shame. Thx for posting this.
