SQUEEZE - Cool For Cats LP 79 w Argybargy LP 80 w Eastside Story LP 81 w Sweets From A Stranger LP 82 w The Complete BBC Sessions 2CD 08

REPOST and ADD ON:  Found the 81 album at Goodwill to add to the old post of the 82 rip and the two CD's from other blogs and since Angstytimelord had suggested the 'Cool For Cat's' as well as Eastside Story I went and got it at Discogs and wasn't sorry about it at all as it really takes off!

Dude, gotta disagree with your opinion of Squeeze. I'm a HUGE fan. These two albums, plus "East Side Story" and "Cool For Cats," are some of the BEST pop music out there. (Come on, who doesn't love "Tempted"?) The Difford & Tilbrook album by the two guys who led the band is pretty awesome, too.

I guess I haven't had the seep exposure that you have had with the band but yeah I like the Tempted song too but found out in prepping this post that actually Paul Carrack sings on that tune then left the band and went solo and put out more records than them! But then after the post ripping the Coffee song was cool and I had no idea on the new wave stuff here is growing on me now so you may have swapped me at this point but unless the many more records are few by them I like this record was I stole at Good Will then I won't pursue them. Just to generic pop for me it seems

Dang work phone spellcheck!!! Tried to say Angsty that unless their other records are free or a near steal like at the Goodwill where I got the 'Sweets' LP for pennies on the dollar, I won't be paying record store prices for them but would certainly welcome links to them here from others.

Can't blame you for that, as I don't have much money to spend on music these days, either. I'd seriously recommend the "Argybargy" and "Cool For Cats" albums if you can find them on the cheap, though. They're both great examples of pop/new wave and I love them. Admittedly, I wasn't all that crazy about their later stuff, but the earlier albums are gems. And I agree about the "Black Coffee in Bed" song -- that's one of my favorites of theirs.

Thank you, I didn't have the BBC album. Like angstytimelord said, great pop. I veer back and forth, have no time for them sometimes, get really into them others. Difford's lyrics are some of the best of the era.
