    'A female singer'?!!
    Way to undersell the late great Candy Givens man.
    Hers was a voice that was equal to those of the great female singers in an era of truly incredible female singers. Think of Janis Joplin, Ruby Starr, Merry Clayton etc. She was in that elite class. Just listen to her wail on 'See My People Come Together'. Jaw dropping.
