This has to be the most painful two records I ever heard. It was almost as painful as trying to expalin the song 'Raping a Slave' to my mom. "It's art Mom" just did not cut it.
Swans were a great band. Very bleak/dark, made Joy Division sound like the Bee Gees. Could say they were a precursor to all the doom stuff to come later. Can also hear where The Melvins picked things up from.

Live truly a wall of sound. By far the loudest performance i've seen in the 80ies.
