Peter Frampton - Frampton LP 75 w Comes Alive 2LP 76 w I'm In You LP 77 w Where I Should Be LP 79

He just played last month as my buddy just saw him and said it was top notch.  I didn't realize the double live albums were the thing to do in 1976..

He absolutely did NOT start "the double-live trend"....among (many) others, Deep Purple's MADE IN JAPAN got there ahead of him. (So did Peter's ex-mates, Humble Pie, with ROCKIN' THE FILLMORE.)

The real landmark is that, although COMES ALIVE set him up for life and then some, it was also the last time anybody took Peter Frampton seriously....even The Simpsons had him playing straight man to Pink Floyd's inflatable sheep! Seriously though, one of these days somebody's going to notice the four lps he cut in between leaving Humble Pie and COMES ALIVE are all excellent lps that were part singer-songwriter and part guitar-hero, just before the industry standardized this approach into AOR (and made us all violently throw up in response)
