Chris Rea - Whatever Happened To Benny Santini LP 78 w Dancing With Strangers LP 87 w Auberge LP 91

This is a pretty good sampling per the Wiki write-up for this well known U.K. artist but still many more releases to be had through the time he was taking 64 pills/day (!!!) for a health condition.  If I had known he did the song "Fool If You Think It's Over" I would have saved the rip until I do my K-Tel hit parade blow-out theme since I collect that stuff from my early youth.

Oops, left my comment about Chris Rea and "Fool (If You Think It's Over)" on the wrong post! I'm so jazzed to find out that one of these albums has the song on it. Now I can finally have my own copy of it to listen to again after all these years! Thank you for posting it!

AND THRU THE WONDERS OF BEING A BLOG ADMIN DEAR ANGSTY, I rescue your comment and bring it here! Have to agree with you, this song permeates my soul as many of those K-Tel tracks did (I worked a quick engineering drafting and finite element analysis work contract on K-Tel Drive! They were from my birthplace of Minneapolis, O.K. who else on AM radio hit from then, More More More - Andrea True Connection as written by Gregg Diamond as I just learned from that rip and post, all the Lobo stuff I posted of course, waiting to rip Ride Captain Ride by Blues Image as I have two of their LP's, Paper Lace, etc. Well, I guess you want your comment don'tcha!? Ha ha here you go:
I remember "Fool (If You Think It's Over)" very well. That was one of my favorite songs when I was a kid -- I had the 45 single and I used to play it over and over. I still love that song. What I'd give to have a copy of it again! angstytimelord P.S. it's very available on discog search, etc. I think I will be keeping my Chris Rea so far (except the cassette--that goes into the VHS/tape Goodwill bag) and I know where I can get some of the others listed as decent on the Wiki write-up! Need the first Quicksilver there too to make my post for Summer of Love 50th Anniversary...yeah it was 1967(!) I kind of thought it was summer of Woodstock 1969 at first...no joke!...LOL

Oh man, I LOVED those K-Tel albums back in the 70s and early 80s. The one that really sticks is my mind is "Music Magic." It had everything from classic rock to pop to disco -- and I remember LOVING every song on it. Even as late as around 1987-88 those were still coming out -- I remember having one that had R.E.M.'s "The One I Love" on it, and that song was popular in 1987. I wish they still made those kinds of compilations these days -- it feels like music has gone SO far downhill in the past 20 years.

Haha, I LOVED the Andrea True Connection! I actually had the vinyl album with "More More More" on it. (What can I say, I grew up during the disco era and that music made a HUGE imprint on me!)
