Max Webster was a band (not a person). They were staples of late 70s early 80s Canadian rock - often touring with Rush. But they toured extensively in Canada - many anecdotes from them are in the book "On a Cold Road" by Dave Bidini (an excellent oral history of bands touring Canada).

They are well known as the original band of Kim Mitchell, who went solo and was similarly (probably more) successful through the rest of the 80s and early 90s.
