SHARKS - First Water LP 73 w Jab It In Yore Eye LP 74

REPOST Request:  Yes, James Fitzpatrick this IS the band with Chris Spedding in it.  Nice choice!  Reminds me for the current theme that I have yet another Chris Spedding record to add to a repost soon.

Love, love, love Jab It In Yore Eye. Especially "Sophistication". Overlooked top notch band.

I own both these albums on LP here in the U.S. I thought I was the only one who ever heard of them.

I saw Sharks open for Roxy Music in summer of '74, theater (NYC Academy of Music) half-empty!
Sharks were as good as Roxy, albeit a much different band. I bought "Jab" shortly afterward and was frankly disappointed. The tempos are too slow, the songs are too long. The live show was much more high energy. Many critics wrote off Snips as a Crocker clone, a raw deal. Also, They were all great players, but only fair songwriters. I think "Sophistication" could've been a hit if it had been shorter, i.e. throw out that tedious bridge and step it up, guys.
/A freakish failure, fabulous musicians who could've done much better w/ outside writing and, I'm guessing, better mgt.

They are still touring in England.
True, they didn't have a decent songwriter.
I got into to them mostly because of Chris Spedding.
Snips is long gone.
Just another footnote in musical history.
Would have liked to see them live
